❗️ Important Message from Dr. Luhrs

My Dear Patients, Clients and Friends,
As I am writing this we are on the brink of a worldwide pandemic. The illness caused by SARS-CoV-2 impacts our body’s ability to get oxygen to our tissues and organs.
Because of how infectious this disease is, and how severe for some people, an unprecedented number of our community members will be needing the hospital at exactly the same time. As your healthcare team we are doing everything possible to make that available.
Through allocation of resources, I have come to Petersburg, Alaska to work in the hospital for the foreseeable future.
For everyone’s protection, we have switched to doing the majority of other visits by telephone or video right now. The days I am not working in the hospital, I am available for regular visits and you can schedule one here. I am happy to see you no matter where you are physically located.
The vast majority of us who get the illness known as “COVID-19” will be able to recover fully at home. If you are having an urgent issue, you can reach me on my cell phone 24/7: 907.301.6427
My colleague Audra Henderson (Masters in Public Health, Nutritional Therapist) is taking care of our Juneau clinic space while I am in Petersburg. She is also doing virtual visits and you can schedule with her for additional support. She sees clients from all over the world.
We are hosting a free online support group, open to everyone, called “Medicine and Morale”. The next occurrence is Wednesday April 22nd.
I care about you deeply, and your health and safety are my #1 priority during this time.
If you need anything: reach out. It's an honor to be part of your medical team.
From My Heart,
Dr. Kayla J Luhrs, MD
