Solstice News
Dear Moon Cyclers,
On the longest night of the year, I would like to welcome you to Vital Signs: your monthly practice newsletter.
This month I had the radical pleasure of meeting Ayurvedic Practitioners from all over the world in Portland, Maine to do a cooking intensive with Dr. Paul Dugliss, MD, former board director of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and founder of New World Ayurveda.
I spent 5 days between our classroom at the University of Southern Maine campus and the kitchen where we practiced over 30 recipes. WOW did I learn a LOT!
I also wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our annual First Friday visioning event earlier this month. We received pages of written and drawn testimony from our community about what we want in healthcare in 2020. We are READY to make it happen.
There are going to be MANY ways to get involved with our healing nonprofit this year:
-for people here at our headquarters in Juneau, Alaska
-for people at our mothership site in Portland, Oregon
-for people EVERYWHERE!
That's right: we are going to have more offerings than ever before here in Alaska, and are unveiling an entire year-long preventive health care plan that will be done virtually for people to participate in from ANYWHERE!!! (Can you tell how excited I am about this??)
We will kick-off with a special 20 day challenge for 2020 that starts the first Monday of the new decade (January 6th) at 6pm in Juneau. ALL HUMANS are welcome to participate in our 2020 20 day challenge that includes my TOP 20 tips for detox delivered straight to your inbox during the 20 day session. A virtual kickoff will be happening at noon Alaska time. (All participants can RSVP here).
Our Official 2020 Launch will commence with our FIRST NEW MOON POTLUCK of 2020 on January 25th at 4pm: 110 Seward Street #4. All are welcome and bring your favorite dish!
And we have so much more coming up after that! So please keep scrolling to see a full list of our upcoming events, and a photo sampler of my time cooking in Maine and our First Friday visioning event.
Thank you for reading, and wishing you clarity in your dreams for 2020!
May your world start getting lighter again.

2nd Saturday Ayurveda @YogaPath:
Balancing the Water Element in Winter
Saturday January 11, 3:30-5pm
All are welcome to attend this lecture!
Kayla began her yoga career on the stilted studio above creek street in her hometown of Ketchikan, Alaska. The interest grew from a college elective to a calling to India where she studied Ayurveda, the greater medicine of which yoga is a part. She completed her yoga teacher training at Samyak Yoga in Mysore, India, as well as at the Institute of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy in Portland, Oregon. Kayla focuses her classes on keeping you feeling healthy and brilliant. All are welcome.
This month's topic: Balancing Your Water Element!
